Originally from Brazil, I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Psychology. My career began with three years of experience treating smokers with chronic medical conditions and working with clients on a wide range of concerns in private practice. After relocating to the United States, I pursued my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Houston, where I gained valuable experience in various clinical settings, including private practices and a university counseling center.
As someone who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I have a deep personal and professional understanding of the challenges that come with chronic pain, medical conditions, and trauma. I know firsthand the frustration of navigating the medical system, seeking answers, and feeling unheard or invalidated in your pain. My mission is to help you realize that while pain is a natural part of life, suffering can be alleviated. Through acceptance, psychological flexibility, authenticity, and a sense of purpose, we can work together to reduce your suffering.
In our sessions, I aim to provide you with practical behavioral and emotional tools to help you manage your mental and medical health. My approach is rooted in Experiential/Mind-Body Theories (such as Mindfulness), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). I believe that true healing begins with connecting to our emotional states in the present moment and learning how to release what no longer serves us. Many of us are trapped in our thoughts and feelings, and challenging these patterns can be incredibly empowering and transformative.
I also take a holistic view of mental health, considering the significant roles that physical health, lifestyle habits, and spiritual practices play in overall well-being.
While my primary focus is on working with clients who have chronic medical conditions and trauma, I also have extensive experience helping individuals with substance use issues, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, relationship concerns, and those from culturally diverse backgrounds.

I provide therapy for adults who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, and perinatal and postpartum concerns. I work with individuals facing the impact of traumatic events, life transitions, and reproductive and perinatal mental health challenges, including infertility, miscarriages, and perinatal anxiety and depression.
I have worked with members in the military, Veterans, first responders, and others who have experienced highly stressful or traumatic events. They often feel overwhelmed by new or past problems that are affecting their ability to function and lead fulfilling lives. They want to regain control, feel at peace, and move forward without the weight of these experiences holding them back.
Life’s challenges can sometimes feel insurmountable, but with the right support, it’s possible to overcome them. Whether you are coping with trauma, managing anxiety, dealing with perinatal or postpartum issues, or navigating a major life transition, therapy can help. I offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, learn effective coping strategies, and build resilience. Together, we’ll work on developing the skills you need to manage your mental health and enhance your quality of life.
With experience providing therapy to individuals in residential, outpatient, anxiety, and trauma- specialized clinics, I have supported individuals through some of their most difficult times. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am trained in Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. I also offer therapy tailored to perinatal and postpartum mental health, helping those facing the challenges of pregnancy and postpartum adjustment.
Through individual therapy, I focus on empowering people to heal and grow from even the most difficult experiences. Finding the right therapist is important. In our first session, we’ll discuss your needs and goals to ensure we’re a good fit for each other. Sessions are typically weekly and taper off as you become better able to apply interventions from therapy into your life. My goal is to provide a supportive environment where you can develop the tools needed to navigate life’s challenges independently, with confidence and resilience.
As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, my areas of focus include: Trauma/PTSD | Anxiety | Perinatal and Postpartum Anxiety and Depression If you’re ready to get started, I offer a 15-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. I’d love to help you, or a member of your family, get the help they need to live better.

I specialize in family therapy, working with teens, adults, and families to help them navigate challenges together. Whether your family is facing struggles related to trauma, eating disorders, addiction, or major life transitions, I provide a safe space for you to strengthen your relationships, improve communication, and heal as a unit. Many of the families I work with feel disconnected or overwhelmed by their circumstances. My goal is to guide you in developing a deeper understanding of each other and finding a path toward healing and growth.
I believe that families, with the right support, can overcome even the most difficult challenges. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, mood disorders, addiction, or issues related to disordered eating, I work collaboratively with each family member to create a plan that promotes well-being and resilience. Therapy is a space where your family can reconnect, address past hurts, and build a healthier, more supportive dynamic.
With over 16 years of experience in residential treatment programs, intensive outpatient settings, and private practice, I’ve helped countless families work through crises and develop lasting solutions. As Chief Clinical Officer at The Council on Recovery and Clinical Director for Monte Nido & Affiliates’ Clementine adolescent residential centers, I’ve led family-centered interventions to support families in their recovery journey.

I am a fifth-year counseling psychology Ph.D. student at the University of Houston. As a doctoral clinician, I provide therapy for adults, adolescents, and children who are wanting to gain strategies, skills, and support to better manage their mental health. I am especially excited to work with clients who have OCD to help them better understand their symptoms, gradually face their fears, and regain their freedom from OCD. I also enjoy working with patients with ADHD and Autism from a neurodiversity-affirming, disability justice lens to help them find ways to work with their brain, instead of against it. Other areas of clinical interest for me include body-focused repetitive behaviors (skin picking, hair pulling, etc.) and LGBTQ+ identity.
I approach treatment in an integrative way, bringing together a variety of interventions and theories to find a combination that best works for each patient. For some, therapy can feel scary or overwhelming at first. Thus, I aim to build a solid foundation of trust and open communication with each client to make sure they feel empowered and affirmed as a partner in their treatment.
Before joining the Coping Resource Center team, I completed practicum placements at the University of Houston Clear Lake’s Counseling and Mental Health Center, Baylor College of Medicine’s OCD Program, and Psychology Houston, PC.
